The journalist Alfonso de la Cruz López Sánchez has been in charge of presenting Holy Week in Cieza this year. A very heartfelt presentation based on his experiences with acquaintances and friends of Cieza. Breaking with the tradition of previous years, the first thing the journalist did was to publicize the name of the Nazarene of the year 2019, a title granted by the Board of Passionate Brotherhoods. In an original and unexpected way, he asked for the help of the public to uncover the different posters announcing the different Holy Week processions. He went down to where the public was and, in a complicit manner, went in search of a "volunteer" (the Nazarene of the year) to uncover the first of the advertising posters. What was the surprise of the "volunteer" of the public who, when showing the poster, found a photograph of himself, revealing the name of the Nazarene of the year, D. Antonio Lucas Parra.
The act continued with the locutions of Alfonso de la Cruz on the peculiarities of Holy Week in Cieza and the PASSION that we ciezanos put into it. These locutions gave rise to showing the posters announcing different processions and events, as well as the poster announcing Holy Week in Cieza.
Alfonso had more surprises in store for this special night. The first of these, some emotional words to the preacher of this year's Holy Week, Antonio Morales, whom he invited to have a special conversation on the day of his proclamation with a very special person in order to fully enjoy the moment. The second one was that, taking advantage of the fact that there was a grand piano on the altar for the subsequent concert, he offered a few bars of the march by maestro Gómez Villa, Holy Week in Ciez, which was a great emotion for all those present.
Alfonso wondered from the beginning of his presentation "Where does so much passion come from?" We do not know if he found an answer to this question, but the Nazarene family and those present could feel the passion that Alfonso put into showing the Holy Week in Cieza.
Alfonso concluded his presentation with the following words: "Cieza is Passion, with capital letters, because every ciezano carries a Nazarene inside."
To conclude the act, it was possible to enjoy a concert of processional marches by musicians from Ciez, Isabel Salmerón, pianist, and Ángel Penalva, flutist; with the arrangements of Antonio Jesús Hernández Alba. The pieces performed were the following:
- "In Nomine Domini", by Antonio Salmerón Morote.
- “Solemnity”, by José Pérez Ballester.
- "To the Lord of Seville", by Abel Moreno Gómez.
- "Penitent Ciezano", by Joaquín Yelo Fernández.
