Processional transfer of Saint Peter
Night of the fifth Friday of Lent
The brotherhoods of Cieza have their quintessential "Saint Peter's Day" on Friday, a date set a considerable distance from the heart of the town's processions, the Assumption neighborhood. The image of Saint Peter, displayed for veneration in the Church of Saint Clare, is carried out on its colossal throne to undertake a long, slow procession to the Holy Week Museum, passing through the city's main thoroughfares: a truly heroic feat that in no way intimidates the stoic and phlegmatic nature of a brotherhood accustomed to grand undertakings.

Departure time: 9:15 pm (Church of Saint Clare).
Arrival time: approximately 11:30 pm (Holy Week Museum).
Route: "Juan José Ayala", "José Martínez Caballero", "Antonio Machado", "Ramón y Cajal", "Cadenas", "Barco" and "Cánovas del Castillo".
Order of procession: musical group, Brotherhood of Saint Peter the Apostle, Saint Peter and musical group.

Unique features and suggestions: The main attraction of this procession, aside from the remarkable artistic merit of the image of Saint Peter by Palma Burgos, lies in the peculiarity of the first part of its long route, which begins very close to the edge of Cieza's urban area. Past generations would have been quite surprised had they known that one day Saint Peter would be carried, at a leisurely pace, from areas adjacent to the Hermitage of the Holy Christ, the starting point for the emblematic "Traída de los Santos". Of course, it is a must-see to witness Saint Peter crossing the park on "José Martínez Caballero" Street and entering the wide "Ramón y Cajal" Avenue, a distinctly open space that, nevertheless, cannot overshadow the impressive Cordoban throne by Rubio Valverde, whose dimensions enhance the spectacular passage through this part of the city's contemporary layout. Those same dimensions will, of course, overflow the narrowness of "Cadenas" Street, another point of great interest for contemplating the parade, in which spectators will have to raise their eyes a lot to find the Apostle advancing towards the 'House of the Saints'.
