Last
weekend, specifically from February 10 to 12, a delegation of 32 people,
including directors of different Brotherhoods and Maestranzas together with
several members of the Unione Maestranze di Trapani, headed by its president,
D. Giovanni D'Aleo, visited Cieza to conclude the Twinning Acts between the two
Nazarene entities, the Unione Maestranze di Trapani and the Board of Passionate
Brotherhoods of Cieza.
On
Friday, February 10, the Acts began with a visit to the Bishopric of the
Diocese of Cartagena in Murcia, being received by His Excellency. And Rvdmo.
Bishop Monsignor D. José Manuel Lorca Planes. After that, the Trapani
delegation was able to contemplate the rich façade of the Murcia Cathedral.
Later, as soon as they arrived in Cieza, they enjoyed the views of our town
from a privileged balcony, in the Sanctuary of our Patron Saint, the Blessed
Virgin of Good Success. They saw the magnificent Carving, and went to the town
of Siyasa, where they learned a fundamental part of the history of Cieza. At
the end, there was a brotherhood dinner, with numerous members of the
Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Cieza.
Saturday
morning began with a reception by the mayor of Cieza, D. Pascual Lucas Díaz,
and the Municipal Corporation, in the Plenary Hall of the Cieza City Hall.
Next, in the Carmelo Gómez Templado auditorium, the Presentation of Holy Week
in Trapani took place, by Mr. Domenico Strazzera, tax auditor and promotional
reference for the Unione Maestranze di Trapani; During the presentation,
several videos were shown where it was possible to learn more about the Trapani
Passion Week. After that, a visit to the historic center was made: Houses of
the Brotherhoods of the Children of Mary, La Oración del Huerto and Santo
Sepulcro, Santísimo Cristo del Consuelo, Santísimo Cristo del Perdón and
Santísima Virgen del Amor Hermoso, Hermitage of San Bartolomé and Folklore
Center.
In
the afternoon there was the Official Reception at the House-Museum of Holy Week
in Cieza, in charge of the Board of Passionate Brotherhoods of Cieza. During
the reception, there was an exchange of gifts between the two entities,
highlighting the details of the different workshops in Trapani by the Junta de
Hermandades Pasionarias, or the gifts of various Brotherhoods of Ciez, such as
the Stma. Our Lady of Sorrows, Saint John the Evangelist, the Descent of Christ
and the Kiss of Judas, the Roman Tercio or the Souls, the homonymous Trappist
Brotherhoods and the Unione Maestranze itself. At the end of the act, they
visited the Throne Room, where they enjoyed the thrones and images found in
that place. At 7:00 p.m., at the Capitol Theater, there was a concert of
processional marches, given by the San Sebastián de Padul Music-Cultural
Association (Granada), directed by Víctor Manuel Ferrer Castillo. During the
concert, the march “1914” was premiered, composed by Víctor Manuel Ferrer;
March dedicated to Holy Week in Cieza on the occasion of the founding of the
Board of Passion Brotherhoods of Cieza. The concert ended with the march “A ti
Angelo mio”, a gift to the Trapani delegation, and “Semana Santa Ciezana”, the
culminating march of our Holy Week. The day concluded with a Brotherhood dinner
with the two delegations and the San Sebastián de Padul Band.
Sunday
began with a visit to the Hermitage of the Holy Christ of Consuelo and the
Church of Santa Clara. At 10:30, from the Plaza Mayor, and with the tour of San
Pedro, Cánovas del Castillo, Larga, San Sebastián, Esquina del Convento,
Mesones, Cadenas, Cánovas del Castillo, San Pedro and Plaza Mayor, a Parade
took place with the Banners of the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias and the 18
Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods that form it, accompanied musically by the
Averroes Musical Group of the OJE de Cieza. Upon arrival at the Monument to the
Nazarene, a Tribute was made to the deceased Brothers of Trapani and Cieza.
Already at 12 o'clock, the Twinning Holy Mass officiated by the Hon. and Rvdmo.
Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena Monsignor D. José Manuel Lorca Planes, in
the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption of Cieza; the Mass was sung by the
Ars Nova de Cieza Choir.
When
the Eucharist ended, the Twinning Signature between the Unione Maestranze di
Trapani and the Board of Passionate Brotherhoods of Cieza was made. The act
began with the intervention of Mr. Ángel F. Penalva Belmonte, formation member
of the Board of Passionate Brotherhoods, and Mr. Domenico Strazzera, fiscal
auditor and promotional reference of the Unione Maestranze di Trapani. After
reading the parchment by Mrs. Jose Aroca, secretary of the Board of Passionate
Brotherhoods, the following signed: Mr. Alberto Maria Genovese, Diocesan
Director for the Servizio alle Confraternite (Italy), Mr. José Antonio García
López, Counselor of the Board of Passionate Brotherhood of Cieza, Mr. Giovanni
D'Aleo, President of Unione Maestranze di Trapani, Mr. Joaquín D. Gómez Rubio,
President of the Board of Passionate Brotherhood of Cieza, and Mr. José Manuel
Lorca Planes, Hon. and Rvdmo. Mr. Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena. During
the signing, the Sordium Quartet, a saxophone quartet, performed the march
“Semana Santa Ciezana”. The act concluded with the delivery of a gold brooch
that will carry the banner of the Junta de Hermandades Pasionarias in the
Procession of the Holy Burial. After the signing, a Brotherhood meal was held,
thus ending the Twinning Acts.
