Under the title of "DRESSING IMAGES OF HOLY WEEK: RESPECT AND DECOR", the gathering that put on the table the issue of respect and the way to carry out this ritual was held yesterday.
The table was made up of D. José Antonio García, priest and counselor of the JHP; D. Antonio Jesús Yuste, sculptor in charge of dressing the Blessed Virgin of Good Success, as well as helping other brotherhoods in this work; Ms. Antonia Ortiz and Ms. Águeda Hernández, waitresses at Our Lady of Gracia and Esperanza; and D. José Fernández, dresser of the image of the Stmo. Christ of Consolation. The table was moderated by the Nazarene Mr. José María Cámara.
There were many points that were discussed on this topic that can be a bit tortuous in some aspects. The Counselor gave the point of view of the Church on this issue. He contributed that these are sacred images that have to lead us to a manifestation of Faith and prayer to God. These images are blessed and must be treated with the decorum they deserve.
The moderator was obtaining different aspects from the gatherings of how they carry out this process of dressing the sacred images, from aspects more typical of that fact, to more anecdotal moments of the same. In what all of them agreed, is that they try to do it in the most intimate way and preserving that reserved moment between the image and its dressing room or dressing room.
One of the slightly more controversial issues was that of social networks so topical today. The commentators and some of the participants commented that it is very difficult to control due to the speed and ease of how photos and videos are uploaded to the networks, but that they do it in such a way that they cannot give rise to these circumstances, but that sometimes it's a bit complicated.
The conclusions that were reached at the end of the gathering, is that the images must be considered as something sacred and that this condition must be taken into account when dressing them, and carefully guard that moment of their clothing before presenting themselves. to the faithful, who will fully observe them in their different processions.
