This past Sunday,
the Basilica of "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción" hosted a solemn eucharist in
suffrage for the souls of the deceased brothers of the Brotherhood of "San Juan
Evangelista", as well as their subsequent recognition as "Sanjuanista" of the
Year 2024.
The religious
function began at 7:00 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. Mr. José Antonio García
López, Counselor of the Brotherhood and the Board of Passionate Brotherhoods of
Cieza. After a massive ceremony, the Brotherhood made public the title of "Sanjuanista",
which this year fell to the figure of Matías Mayordomo and María Sánchez.
Following the emotional episode, the event ended with a majestic concert by the "Averroes" Musical Group of the OJE, which delighted the spectators with the following processional marches: "Mi Amargura", "Crucifixus" and "Semana Santa Ciezana".
